What is a design system?
Here’s a simple definition: a design system is a documentation of the exact guidelines that components of a product should comply with. This can be how they look, what they’re made up of and how they should be used.
These systems can be recorded within common design programmes such as Invision, Figma and Sketch, all depending on what you prefer. They can be interactive or stay static, but ultimately they should provide detailed visuals that help create a shared understanding between designers, developers and any other people working on the product.
