We're excited to welcome Marius as our new Finance Manager at New Icon!
We've welcomed a new team member to New Icon, and that means a new starter blog!
This month we'd like to welcome Marius, who's joined as Finance Manager. Here are Marius’ answers to the famous New Icon "new starter" questions...
I have been working in finance for the past 7 years, super passionate about economics, finance personal and business related, investments etc. Previously I worked in the retail and hospitality sectors taking care of the finances for restaurants, supermarkets and online retail shops. I wanted to try a new sector. SaaS seemed like an interesting and innovative direction to go next.

Super satisfying when you end up with the completed version as you can see the big picture.
Getting a better understanding of the business and the sector, automatising as many processes as possible, and finding as many paths to optimise anything from revenue to billing and taxation. I am also looking forward to helping the business to be as efficient as it can be, to redirect the company resources to the correct part of the business in order to get the best outcome at the end of the year for everyone involved.
Tech automation for a lot of tasks, especially office related. Improvements on automation and efficiency for infrastructure and public services for example: traffic optimisation, healthcare and better infrastructure planning, taking us to faster and more optimal outcomes.
Walking in nature I am a big national trust fan, I try to see as many locations as I can. I like video editing and I am working on a few projects at the moment, progress is slow but steady! I love to talk with people about financial literacy - anything from budgeting to investments, and I love travelling. I'm always looking for the next trip that might be an amazing experience.
All of the Lord of the Rings / Breaking Bad
