The team here at newicon continues to grow, and that means more blogs as we introduce you to these fantastic new team members! First up for 2022 is Ricardo, a Senior Software Developer who just joined the team.
We recently sat down with new Newicon Senior Software Developer Ricardo, to get to know him a bit better. Here's what he had to say...
What's your working background, and how did you come to work for Newicon?
I worked as a developer on numerous projects, from building APIs, SPA, E-commerce websites, Affiliate Marketing tracking systems, and so on.
I am a full-stack developer, but I tend to focus more on the server-side and the business logic.
I came to work for Newicon in the search for new challenges and exciting projects that allow me to grow as a developer.
Describe your job to a six-year-old.
I build apps and websites following a plan and a design.
What are you looking forward to working on the most?
API integrations, data manipulation, and probably the development of some SPA with React and Node JS.
What excites you most about the future of digital marketing/web development/design/software/social media?
I am excited about the shift from OOP to the functional programming paradigm that is happening, which will allow us to do better testing, seamless parallel programming, and better reliability by using pure functions and unmuted data.
What tech breakthroughs do you think we'll be seeing in the next ten years?
The way we consume and interact with digital content will change with augmented reality on glasses and contact lenses. Autonomous electric cars will be here.Drones will handle most of the delivery of packages. Cashierless checkout technology introduced by Amazon will be widespread throughout all supermarkets.
What do you like doing outside of work, any unusual hobbies?
Gaming, Movies, Anime, Series, cooking, gadgets and tech stuff.

Do you have any hidden talents, or is there an interesting fact about you?
I have two leopard tortoises as pets.
